Colonie Center is quickly becoming the “king” of local malls and a real gem of the Capital District. Located at the intersection of Central Avenue, Wolf Road, and Interstate 87 it is centrally located. Colonie Center originally opened in 1966 and became the very first enclosed mall in the 518. Recently, it went over a major make over and remodeling adding many major chained stores and a brand new deluxe theatre. At 1.3 million square feet, this 2 level enclosed mall features over 100 stores. Macy’s, Boscov’s and Sears anchor the center. L.L. Bean, and many up scale eateries.
Popular retailers that operate include The Gap brand stores, Express, Bath and Body Works, Aeropostale, Victoria’s Secret, Kay Jewelers, Lane Bryant, American Eagle and New York and Co. Other stores include Sephora Barnes & Noble, Lids, Steve and Barry’s, Spectors, and Hannoush Jewelers. You can also connect with an Albany medicare agent in the area.
Cheesecake Factory and P.F. Changs have the only restraunts of the major chains in New York State.
Colonie Center also has the area’s top of the line movie theatre equipped with a lounge, bar, and a sitting area.
This mall has a mixed crowd. Great for the family, a date, or just to get some shopping done. Parking is a little challenging so give yourself plenty of time. If you are planning on going to see a movie, we strongly recommend you order your tickets online or via the phone hours beforehand. Also, for newer movies you may experience a line and an extended wait before being seated.
