THE SARATOGA CITY TAVERN
The Lowdown
The Saratoga City Tavern is one of the most popular bars on Caroline St. in Saratoga. Although the bar has a very laid back atmosphere during the day and early evening, do not let that fool you, there is a very lively night life to experience at The Saratoga City Tavern.
During the day you can relax from a day of shopping over a tall draft beer, endulge in the food from the kitchen, and at night dance into the early hours of the morning with hit music and a fun atmosphere that only Caroline St. can provide.
The Service
The bar was fairly empty when we visited and we imaginethat if you come here for some fine dining or an evening drink you won't have much of a line. But during the track season and the weekend nights you will have a ton of people to push through to get to the bar. The Saratoga City Tavern has multiple floors including a beautiful rooftop that helps spread out the crowds, but like ALL of Caroline St., anticipate a crowd and a wait.

The Scene
A flatscreen television playing sports, an upstairs area, a full menu, and a large sit down area make this a nice stop during your trip to Saratoga. Keep in mind that there is a $20 minimum at the bar if you plan on paying using a credit card. The drink prices were a steep; for example we ended up paying $6 for a Blue Moon, normally a price associated with a mixed drink.
This is a great place to enjoy a singles night life during the weekend late nights. The bar is beautiful as well as the entire establishment.
During the daytime this is a great option for a bite to eat or a date. A good eclectic mix of the young and older crowd.
Naturally, the track season is the prime season for Caroline St. and all the bars that call it home.
