The Lowdown
Ryan's Wake (Established in 2005) is one of our favorite stops for Happy Hour in Troy. During a Friday evening after work hours on a nice day you can find the bar packed.
The bar is very nice on the inside with a huge bar. We have a picture below that we are planning to update during our next visit.
They have 3 dart boards, an ATM, a video game machine, an old style juke box and a beautiful large deck equipped with tables, chairs, and a bar that overlooks the Hudson.
The only issue is the parking here. Although, you may get lucky and find a spot in the small back or small side parking lot, it can be generally hard. You may want to take a parking space in the large vacant Fresno's Parking lot.
The Service
Not going to lie, Ryan's Wake does get pretty crowded, but keep in mind there are two bars (one on the back patio)! Great specials are almost always available and it draws a very chill crowd.
On a Friday summer day in Troy after work, this place would be hard to beat. It also was a recipient of one of the Metroland Readers Poll for Best Bar and it is well deserved.
Although this bar may not be very well-known outside of Troy, it is one of the Capital Districts best kept secrets.
The Scene
Your going to get it all here. Casual business worker to locals meeting with friends. It's a nice comfortable atmosphere. It also has 2-3 flat screen HD televisions for the games!
It isn't really singles bar and more of a place to unwind and have a great time with friends.
Ryan's Wake is great for happy hour!
