The Lowdown
Brown's is one of our favorite stops in Troy, right next to one of our other favorites Ryan's Wake. Brown's has a large bar and a rather big eating area as well. If that's not enough you can bring it out back to a very big patio or upstairs to their upper level dining area that even has a pool table.
Brown's even brews their own beer! We recommend giving it a taste, ESPECIALLY if you like Sam Adams or other tasty lagers.
The Service
The service ordering drinks at the bar is slow at times. This place does get packed and can get crowded so positioning is key when it comes to even getting close to the bar to get a drink. Your best bet is to get a table and grab a waitress for your drinks.
The prices were relatively good, but it doesn't make up for the wait, so maybe a little costly in the end.
The Scene
Perfect for happy hours with friends or co-workers. Keep in mind this is a family setting, so don't come here expecting to pick up girls or meet your soul mate. This is a lot more "lax" than Ryan's Wake and more family orientated. But it's not a knock on the bar, this bar is actually a very nice place to bring a date or do happy hour! Give it a shot and don't forget to try out the beer!
The food is good too and moderately priced. Giving the kitchen a chance to show you what they can do is a great idea and we strongly recommend it! Dinner and drinks? Browns for sure!
Even for business lunches, you may want to bring a prospective or current client here. A classy joint that really embodies the culture of Troy!
